                                                         Regular Activities at Parkview Chapel

                      1) All age worship :

10.30 Sundays - this is the place where people who are new to Christianity or Parkview will be the most comfortable. It is designed to be user friendly using video material and other visual aids to enhance the presentation. It will usually be led by one of the members of the church and culminates in a talk by a guest speaker. We do our best to make this relevant to the needs of people today. Children stay in for the first half but have their own activities during the talk.

During months with a 5th Sunday there will be a united service please see homepage for further details

                      2) The communion:

9.25 AM 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month - this is a time to meet with God and better appreciate the depths of what Jesus did for each of us. It is a time when any present can contribute with a thought, prayer, reading that means something to them or simply request a particular song or chorus. A member of the church will usually open with his own thoughts and, at the appropriate time he will take the opportunity to pass the bread and wine round. Jesus asked us to do this because he knew that it would focus our minds on his sacrifice for us; the bread and wine being simply visual aids to help us remain focused. All are welcome to join with us in this.

On the 2nd Sunday of each month communion is taken during the 10.30 service.

On the week of the 4th Sunday of the month communion is taken at life groups.

                      3) Life Groups:

Life groups are an opportunity to meet in a small group with other church members to study the Bible in more depth. There are two groups meeting on a Tuesday evening at 8.00 PM and two groups on a Wednesday at 11.00 AM and 8.00 PM. Please contact the chapel for the latest times and venues.

Primary school children (reception to year 5) have a club, 6.00pm to 7.00pm, on Fridays with games, quizzes and a Bible story. A sweet shop operates within this club selling things that only children like.  Year 6's are welcome to come and help too.

                      5) Ladies' meeting:

This takes place on the first and third Thursdays at 2.00pm. Usually a guest speaker gives a talk and there is a time together over a cup of tea.

                      6 Other Activities:

Coffee On The Corner:   From nine to noon on Tuesdays usually the second Tuesday of the month. A social time where people can have coffee, tea, cake and biscuits (donations welcome) with the intention of simply sitting and getting to know each other better. Also there is always stalls with items for sale and all proceeds are given to a good cause.  This is likely to be a different local cause each time and substantial amounts have been given away in the past. This is something for all the community.

A number of Special events for the community are organized throughout the year

Pastoral: We live in the same world as you do with its pressures and problems. If you think that a talk with someone could help we will be pleased to do what we can. If we cannot help we may know someone that can but you can be certain that any conversations will be completely confidential if that is what you would like.
