Regular Activities at Parkview Chapel
1) Communion:
Sundays 10.00am  - This is a time to meet with God and better appreciate the depths of what Jesus did for each of us.  It is a time when any present can contribute with a thought, prayer, reading that means something to them or simply request a particular song or chorus.  A member of the Church will usually open with their own thoughts and, at the appropriate time they will take the opportunity to pass the bread and wine round.  Jesus asked us to do this because he knew that it would focus our minds on his sacrifice for us; the bread and wine being simply visual aids to help us remain focused.  All are welcome to join with us in this.

Each Sunday Communion is followed by refreshments at 10.30am

2) All Age Worship:
Sundays 11.00am - This is the place where people who are new to Christianity or Parkview will be the most comfortable.  It is designed to be user friendly using video material and other visual aids to enhance the presentation.  It will usually be led by one of the members of the church and culminates in a talk by a guest speaker.  We do our best to make this relevant to the needs of people today. Children stay in for the first half but have their own activities during the talk.

If a month has a 5th Sunday on that day there will be a United Service with the other Churches in the community.  Please see homepage for further details.

3) Life Groups:
Life groups are an opportunity to meet in a small group with other church members to study the Bible in more depth.  There are two groups with one meeting on a Tuesday evening and one on a Wednesday evening, both starting at 7.30pm.  There is also a group that meets on a Wednesday at 10.30am.

4) Youth:
All of the following groups meet at Parkview during term time:

Junior Friday Club - Fridays 6.00pm to 7.00pm:

Primary school children, school years reception to year 6.  A fun session with everything from Bible stories, to cooking, to craft, to games.  Free admission but bring money for a tuck shop that sells things that only children like ..... and some adults too!

Senior Friday Club - Fridays 7.30pm to 9.30pm:
High school young people, school years 7 to year 11.  A fun evening with computer games consoles, darts, football, snooker, table tennis, uni-hoc etc.  A tuck shop also runs all evening.  Admission 50p.

P.Y.P. - Sundays 7.00pm to 8.30pm:
For those in school years 9 to year 13.  Your typical Church youth group.  A group with fun studies based on both the Bible and relevant issues to young people of this age group.  We do go out for socials often too, including film nights, ice skating, bowling ..... and they always include food!  Free admission.

5) Praise Hour:

This takes place on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 2.00pm.  Usually a guest speaker gives a talk and there is a time together over a cup of tea afterwards.  This was formally known as the Ladies Meeting, but is now open to all!

6) Coffee On The Corner:

From 9.00am to 12.00pm on the second Tuesday of the month.  A social time where people can have coffee, tea and cake, all with the intention of simply sitting and getting to know each other better.  Also there is always stalls with items for sale.  Donations for the refreshments are welcome with all proceeds given to a local charity.  This is something for all the community.

A number of special events for the community are organised throughout the year.  So please keep your eye open for these!

7) Pastoral Care Team:

We live in the same world as you do with its pressures and problems.  If you think that a talk with someone could help we will be pleased to do what we can.  If we cannot help we may know someone that can but you can be certain that any conversations will be completely confidential if that is what you would like.
